12:02 pm - EEE!!!
I FOUND MY CHECKBOOK!!! EEEEEE!!! Ha ha ha haa...yeah, it just suddenly disappeared a while ago, and that pissed me off, cause you need checks! And then when I went home, completely forgot to pick more up. AHH! So, yesterday I go and look for my colored pencils in my Crayola box, and there's my checkbook. I would have never looked there in a million years. Wow...what the hell was it doing in there? Trying to seduce the colors? HAHAHA!

4:42 pm - Going home...
Hey guys! What's happenin'? Haven't posted on here for awhile, so here's a bit about my life as of now. Classes are insane and take up most of my time. Well, they take up a rather good part of it. I'm also pledging for Alpha Phi Omega, which is a co-ed community service fraternity. YAY! It's awesome...my big is Steve Behrns. You're supposed to not know your big, but I know Steve from Cranberry Lake. We were in Wildlife Management together. But anyway, besides pledging, I also work 5 times a week at the dining hall (YUCK!), I am still the programming co-chair for student government, I'm a student ambassador...AND, I try to spend lots o' time with Melissa. It's hard, and I wish I could spend more time with her. I love her so much! I try baby, I really do. I'm sorry if I get pissed easily, but stress is definitely easier to come by now a days because of the busier work load.

Anyway, I'm going home this weekend for the Ren Faire. THE REN FAIRE! AHH!! I love it! So much fun! And...I'm bringing home Meliss. He he he hee...it should be quite interesting because umm, yeah, the 'rents and the bro and everyone. This is new to them...and hopefully it's not awkward...although, it probably will be. But I don't care...she's the love of my life, and they have to sub-come to it sometime. I'd prefer rather sooner than later. HAHA! Meh...Meliss will probably sleep in the bonus room and I'll just sneak in with her. YAY! He he he hee...I don't know if my parents will say anything right there and then, but they might talk about it and talk to me later...but by "later", I would have already slept with her. SWEET!

Anyway, I'm just happy to bring Meliss to my home. She's never really seen it before...well, that one time when her and Vicki picked me up for the road trip, but that doesn't really count. HAHA! But yeah, it should be a good time. And Cally's birthday is this coming Friday, Sept. 29. WOO! Can't wait to see her!!!

Welp, that's all for now peeps. Feel free to contact me and distract me from all this work. Sorry if I haven't kept in contact with most of you, but times are tough and exhausting.

8:17 pm - Wow...terrible...
Wow...don't see "The Wicker Man". Holy shite dude...after the movie ended, I just stared at Bethel and said, "I am so sorry I brought you here." Yeah...and if Vicki saw it, she'd be writing a nasty letter to the director faster than you can say "I like cheese." So Vicki, don't see that movie...it really embarasses pagans. Yeah...that's pretty much it.

2:34 pm - School daze....
Hey peeps! Well, I'm back in lovely Syracuse again. Not too shabby here. The apartment is getting nicer as the days go by. There's still tons of crap around the living room, but that other roomies should be gettin' on that hopefully by this weekend. Theresa, our new roomie, is AWESOME! Really down to Earth and loves to laugh, which is a good thing. Totally reminds me of Meliss's sister Jess...like, almost the resemblence is striking and scary. HAHA!

Seeing my parents leave last Wednesday when they dropped me off was hard. I teared a bit...I mean, after seeing them for a month, it was kinda hard to say bye. But, I'll be back for the Ren Faire at the end of September. YAY! And what a pleasant surprise I will be bringing with me. WHA HA HAA! Don't worry hun, it'll be fine. Sure it will be awkward, but better now than when we're in Canada again eh? Tehe!

Meliss came up last Thursday, which was amazing! She stayed til yesterday (Wednesday). But we had the best time here! We saw all of our friends. We even went to the State Fair with Alex and his girl Onica (from Holland). Yo dudes, we ate fried dough, friday onion, friday snickers, fried twinkie, AND (drum roll) FRIED PICKLES! HAHAHA! Actually, they weren't that bad, BUT, I was on the toilet the WHOLE next day. Like ya'll wanted to hear that. HAHA! TOO BAD! But yeah, having Meliss around was amazing...and now I have a big bed to accomadate her. YAY! She found an aparment too on Lancaster Ave...SWEET! I can't wait to wisk her away from Long Island and not have to say good bye for extended periods of time. I love her SO much!

Welp, I'm off to go read some stuff for my Native American Religion class...so I will catch you peeps later! It's good to be back amongst the entropy. WOO!

3:11 pm - Mexico and more...
Yo peeps! What's up? Long time no write eh? He he hee...yeah, it's been one crazy ride ever since I've come back from Alaska and Canada. Last week I went to Mexico for a week with the fam. It was kind of like one last family vacation hurrah, since my parents are most likely leaving for Japan next summer. Yeah...it'll be interesting, let me tell you. But anyway, Mexico. 5 words for ya'll: Hot Men That Can Dance!!!! HAHAHA! Yeah, they're were some pretty fine lookin' men down there...but I've already found the love of my life and I love her with all my heart.

So let's see. The day we left was hell. Apparently my needed her marriage certificate because she didn't have valid ID that showed both her last names. SO...we had to drive an hour home (after waking up at 3:30 AM that morning, mind you), and then drive back for another flight that costed us another $1000. SHEESH!!! What a pain! But, once we got there, it was heaven. We basically played volleyball every morning, chilled at the pool and drank, and then dinner and a show at night. I also totally won a bottle of tequila and a trucker hat playing a karaoke game. OH YEAH BABY!!! That'll be a nice back to school gift. HAHA!

There were two things that majorly sucked about this vacation though: 1. Melissa wasn't there with me. I missed her SO much because I couldn't call her on my cell because of roaming charges. I bought a phone card, but that still left me with limited time to talk with her...hell, we usually talk at least an hour and more each day. He he he hee... 2. I got tonsilitis like the first day we were there. And no, I didn't drink the water. We actually had to go to the resort docter...so he gave me a shot on my butt and some anti-biotics and it was all good. Dude, it was so bad that every time I swallowed, I had to clench my fists because it hurt that bad. And eating, the hell with eating...I might as well have been fed through a tube. HAHA! But now I'm all better, so that's good. YAY!

And if anyone is looking for a place that treats women really nicely, Mexico is a nice place to start. When we would eat at restuarants, they'd pull my chair out and put the napkin on my lap. There was even this one waitor who told me dad that he thought I was very pretty and kept talking to me. HAHAHAHA! Aww...those silly Mexicans.

It's good to be back though. The second day we were back, I took off for Long Island and spent a couple o' days at Meliss's house. It was so nice!!! I couldn't have been more happy...it just felt indescribebly good to be with her once again. It was REALLY hard to leave yesterday (Saturday) night. What you decided hun...I still can't believe it's true. It's like a dream...that I get more time with you when I thought I had so little. I'm so excited for us...EEEE! He he hee...sorry, I start to leak a bit (in the eyes) when I talk about this subject and how incredibly happy it makes me. :) !!!!!!!!

Welp, I'm back up at the 'Cuse this Wednesday. I can't believe school's starting in about a week. WTF?!?!?! He he heee...something tells me that this year is going to be good and I'm going to be happy. I can't wait to see everyone! I miss ya'll SO MUCH!!!

Ok, I've dwelled on long enough. Until next time peeps...cheers mates!

Kess ;)

P.S. I love you!!!

2:52 pm - What a heavenly vacation!
Hey peeps! I have returned from Alaska. Yeah, it was a good time, but I'm glad to be back among family, friends, and my lovely amazing girlfriend! WOO! No sooner did I get back, then I left to drive up to Long Island. I met Meliss in the city to go to The Met, but it was FREAKIN' CLOSED! Grrr...but our meeting for the first time in 2 months was pretty comical. We were literally separated by a cross-walk that said we couldn't cross. So, we stood there looking at each other across the street for a good couple o' minutes before we could actually be together. Goodness...fate, I loath you! *shakes fist up in the air* But oh...it was an amazing feeling to see her again. Words can't say what I feel about her...they just can't possibly express something of such beauty. The next day we drove 8 hours up to Canada and stayed at the Radisson hotel. Oh...my...gosh...two words for ya'll: Jacuzi tub. HAHAHAHA! Yeah, we also brought the hooka since we had a smoking room, so we smoked it up while enjoying the tub. I like camping...inside joke pointed towards Dilan. HAHA! King size bed, two TV's, a sink with microwave and mini-fridge, pool out sofa. Uh huh...that's what I said. :) After a long day of driving, we just walked across the street to TGI Fridays and we got a Strawberry margarita and some appetizers. I loved being able to legally drink.

Anyway, Wednesday we hit up the Butterfly Conservatory, took a horse drawn carrige ride through the botanical gardens and around the school of horticulture...and then we went wine testing. Ok...ice wine is simply amazing and if you haven't tried it yet, you better well must!!! It's heaven in a bottle, to quote Melissa. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at a picnic area and had a junk food picnic (mainly Willy Wonka chocolate bars and cream soda...woo!). That night we had a very lovely dinner and topped it off with some gambling at the Casino. That's right! Kessler got her first taste of legal gambling. We only did slots, but it was awesome...and Meliss did win $40...free dinner...WOO! We also hit up the bars in there and if you ever go to Canada, you need to see Benny the bartender at the casino. He'll make you his famous drink, The Spankin'. HAHHAA!

Thursday we were such the tourists. We did this package tour thingy on a double decker bus (we had front row top seats). We went across the Niagra River Whirlpool on the Aero cable car, went behind the falls and got soaked, did Maid of the Mist and got soaked, and saw the floral clock (complete with crappy dinky museum...HAHA!). We totally met some awesome people on the tour too. There was this mom and daughter who were chinese or korean, but they were hysterious the whole time and we completely hit it off. HAHA! That night we went to Clifton Hill Street, which basically looks like a combination between Vegas and Disney World. We did a Fun Pass, which included the HUGE ferris wheel, Galaxy underground black light mini-golf, an interactive ghost shooting ride, a vertual rollarcoaster, and an outlook at the falls. Dude...it was sweet! And dinner at the Secret Garden Restuarant made the night complete.

I'll be nice and spare ya'll the details of anything else Meliss and I did because I'm sure you can use your imaginations to fill in the blanks. HAHAHAAHA! ;)

We drove home reluctantly on Friday and had Shabbat dinner with Meliss's family. Then we went to see "Pirates of the Caribean 2". Dude, I wanted to deck Elizabeth at the end for what she did, but then it ALLLL made sense. But they totally set themselves up for the next one with Barbosa coming in at the end there...DUDE, it's gonna be so EXCELLENT! I bet it will probably make more money than the second movie did opening weekend.

Oh...and if you ever want to go to Canada, crossing the boarder is a sinch. They ask you the most simple questions and didn't even ask for our ID's or anything...well, they did on the way back to the states, only because Americans are just really anal about that kinda thing. But yeah, I can't wait to go back...it was most certainly a fabulous time with the most beautiful increible girl in the world. Although, Meliss, I'm sure next time we'll be even happier than this past time...*wink wink*. I love you so much!

Cheers everyone!

Kess ;)

9:54 am - 3 guys and a girl...floating down the Kisaralik River
Hey everyone! Long time no talk! So, I've just come back from a week on the Kisaralik River. Don't worry if you don't know where that is...I've got all the points on my GPS. WOO! Anyway, ohhh man, it was SUCH a fun trip!!! I really enjoyed myself. Being the only girl sucks, but it's fun to make fun of the guys...and they make fun of me, so it all equals out. Where do I begin...how 'bout the beginning! There's an idea!

We started off Monday July 10. Dan flew off first, then Jamison and I, and then Sam came last. We landed up in the Kisaralik Lake and set camp right there in the cove inlet. It was breathtaking! I couldn't stop looking around...we were surrounded on all sides by mountains...and the water was so clear that it was a deep blue/green. AMAZING! Windy as all hell...but simply AMAZING!!! We stayed there and fished until the next day, mid-afternoon. It kinda sucked because Dan didn't get me a fishing license like he SAID HE WOULD!!!!...but, it worked out because I read while they fished and when they would catch something, I would do a fin clip, weight, and length. The sucky part was always following them like a little lost dog wherever they went. What a pain!! Ugh...boys! He he hee...

Sometime near the beginning, we were coming down through the moutains and ran across some Class III rapids followed by some Class IV. Well, Dan and I took the Class III first, which I almost pissed myself with the excitement. We pulled over and had ready the throw bags for Sam and Jamison in their raft. OH...MY...GOSH! It was the funniest thing ever! They went vertical man...I swear, if any of them would have breathed wrong, they would have been going in the drink. HAHAHA! Sam's face was priceless!! HAHAHA! Anyway, we couldn't get through the Class IV rapids (we woulda went right into a wall), so we had to portage the rafts. This entailed unloading everything from the rafts, using roaps and strategically placed people over the rocks to direct the rafts over the rapids, and then we had to load the rafts again and go. That took about a good 2-3 hours. Ugh!

It rained on us for about 3 days straight, but I got to see the animals I wanted to. EEE! While floating the one day, Dan and I saw a mother moose and her two babies. Such a great animal. On Friday, Dan decided to stay another day...so, all day Saturday we fished specifically for Dolly Vartins (type of salmon, in case ya'll aren't fish experts). Yeah...I had to clip, weigh, and measure 50 Dolly's. You can tell my excitement...woo. He he hee...naa, it was actually interesting to collect samples and get involved in that kind of a science...but it was just uber repetitive. Such as science I suppose. That night, we ran out of propane, so we had to cook by fire for the last couple o' days which I didn't mind, because I love having a nice warm fire while camping. Made me smell good and smoky. :) Then it happened...we were all standing in our "kitchen" when a small cub was up a bit from camp crossing the river. I about pissed myself. I SAW A BEAR!! EEE! It came pretty close to camp and then went into the brush. No sooner, we see this HUGE sow coming down the adjacent hill ( I mean, no neck what so ever dudes!). It was looking right at us, so Dan had to fire a couple o' warning shots to scare it off. Oh man! That was amazing...I finally saw some Alaskan bears...grizzly bears at that!

Dan really surprised me that night too. We spent a good portion of the night talking about US history and present day government and issues. He knew a great deal of material that just blew me away. I swear, everytime I'm with that guy, I learn something knew and interesting. He might have a crappy sense of humor, but he's knowlegdable and trustworthy. He's done so many things in his life, experienced life, and lived to tell about it. If you ask me, he's kind of become a role-model to me. Someday, I hope to experience things like finding glass balls on the shore of a beach or getting run over by a bear...anything to gain experience in life. That's where it's at...it's not schooling (although it helps)...to truly learn about something, you have to experience it and do it for yourself. Living life, say, out on the river can't be taught in a book...in my opinion anyway.

We almost thought we would have to spend another night on the river because unfortunately, our boat driver that was supposed to come and pick us up got a DWI the night before. Luckily, the only other guy who knew the river and how to manuever a boat came and picked us up. We got back around 6ish. Not too shabby...but now I have to take care of three dogs, plants, and keep the house sort of clean until I leave on Friday. My first flight is at 7:49 am...and apparently the rest of the times didn't change from my originally scheduled flights...which means I might be at the Anchorage airport for a good 8-9 hours. AHH!! Thank GOD for laptop movies, "Thief of Time", and Soduko. HAHA!

Oh, when I got home, I think I was on the phone with Meliss for a good 2 hours. Gosh, it was soo good to hear her voice again and to just talk with her. Less than a week til I see her!!! EEEE!!! I can't wait! It's just going to be a splendid and exciting time with her. I love her so much!

Welp, that's it for now peeps. Until next time...Cheers!...not that there's any alcohol here in Bethel at all! Grrr...yeah, that's right...they don't sell alcohol here. GASP! You have to import it if you want any. *sigh* I need to get drunk when I get back home...or at least buzzed.

Kess ;)

11:30 am - It's July?
Ok...where the hell did June go?!?!?! HAHAHA! Not that I'm complaining, but WOW! So let me dawn some new stories on you peeps.

Dan, Sam, and I journied on power boat to the lower Kiseraluk Thursday (June 29). Half way up the river, we had to change the propellar to a jet to stop us from getting caught on sandbars (so now I know how to change a boat engine...sort of...he he he hee). The journey took about 4-5 hours...in the frigid rain and wind. *shiver* I think I was wearing like 7 layers...seriously! HAHAHA! We found this dandy huge gravel bar in the middle of two channels and decided to stay there for the two nights.

The next day, I was so excited we didn't have to pack up camp like we usually did. THANK GOODNESS! It gets to tidious after a while, ya know? But yeah, we packed a lunch and headed up the river a bit (since we didn't have that much fuel left) and performed some river cross depth measurements and did some bank elevation measurements. Sam and I really worked like a "well oiled machine" that day. I directed him in a straight line to wack all of the brush that would be in my way of using the clinometer to zoom in on his meter stick. HAHAH! Sorry, that last sentence just sounded wrong. HAHAHA! Umm...so yeah...I think Dan was pleasantly surprised and happy. YAY!

After an afternoon of doing that, we stopped for lunch on a beautiful sand bar in the middle of the river, and then headed back to camp...or so we thought. We actually had some engine trouble and had to stop and try and fix it. There was this one part that wasn't bolted down tight enough, so the seam had broken and water was getting into it. AHH! SO...FINALLY after that, we headed back to camp. BUT...as fate would have it...another dilema occured. One of the husky float planes was circling our camp, and we were all wondering "WTF?" It flew in like 2 meters above the tents and dropped a note out the window. It was for Sam...family emergency...really bad one too! SO...we packed up camp and traveled back to Bethel that night. Ugh! It was just a long and tiring ride home. Everyone was on edge and just wanted to get back as soon as possible. Didn't get in til around 11ish.

It was kind of a bummer, because I was really enjoying the camping atmosphere...even though the mosquitoes were eating me alive whenever I had to relieve myself...but such as life. I've gotten used to it. OOOO, but the best thing is that Dan's wife ordered me a female potty thing. HAHAHA! It's like a funnel and a hose...which is going to be a hell of a sight, but now I can pee (kinda) just like the men. YAY! Gotta love being equipped, wouldn't you say?

Also...in case anyone hasn't heard, I'm coming home on July 21 now. And apparently, my family is planning one last family hurrah before they leave next summer for Japan. They were thinking California...or Mexico (but it's awful hot down there now). But I could definitely see myself at the Cali beaches in my bikini and long surf shorts boogie boarding. YES! Gosh...the last time I went boogie boarding was at Wild Wood with Juan and I totally flashed the whole beach when my top fell off. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ahhhh...memories.

Welp, until next time peeps. Happy 4th!!! I know it's big deal around here in bush Alaska. There's a fair! YES! He he hee...

P.S. I love you!!!!

I'm A FUTCH! HAHAHAHA! I knew it! I knew I wasn't completely femme or butch...but just in between. Hmmm...that's how I like it...being in between. Having a bit from the left and a bit from the right. So, Meliss is a stone-butch and I'm a futch. That'll have to do. But then again, who the hell cares about titles and names. We are who we are right? Goodness!!

9:23 pm - The first river float on the Eek River
Hello everyone! I'm back from the first river float of the summer. Twasn't that bad at tall...if you think doing research in the cold rain and going to the bathroom while getting eaten by mosquitoes is not bad. HAHAA! Ok, I'll tell ya'll what happened...hopefully it take up too much of your time.

We left Monday and got there around 7 pm. We had to build the raft by hand...and pump it by hand (ugh, my back!). Not to mention, as soon as I stepped off the plane, I had to immediatly put on my bug shirt. They just swarmed me. Tall grass is BAD! VERY BAD!! So...you can imagine the joy I experienced when I went to the bathroom. Boys...you don't realize how easy you have it to just whip out your hose and not suffer the 10 bites I get everytime I go. GRRR!! Don't worry...I plan to invent a way women can easily go to the bathroom without getting eaten alive. He he he...by the time we found a sandbar to spend the night on, it was around 10:30 pm. We just all passed out from exhaustion.

The next day was a rainy rainy cold day. We did, I think, the most measurements today. We took depth readings across the river in a little blow-up raft we took along. Then, we took the elevation readings on either side of the river to make some profiles. This information will eventually be added to a program that Dan has to fit his own category naming. This information will then be used to make a sort of map to help him better identify the different parts of the river and relate them to juvenile spawning of salmon. Sream ecology...basically.

Wednesday was the same, but it wasn't raining! And THAT makes all the difference in the world. I believe it was today that we came across the wolverine while we were floating through the Great Barrier Ridge. It was an amazing sight...he was on the bank of the river and so close that we could hear him clicking his teeth at us. YAY!

Thursday and Friday we floated all day without taking any measurements. We were a bit behind on floating, so we had to make up time. During those long periods of floating, a lot of stuff just came into my unconscious mind. Things like the high school plays I was in, the musicals I performed in, Stephy and my adventures at Olive Garden, graduation partys, Melissa....it was so surreal. I guess I'm more home sick than I realized. I just...miss everyone. I just want to go home and be with everyone. Funny what you're mind has stored in it to make you remember eh?

I got SO sun burned on this trip...so sun burned that even my lips got kind of split and nasty...couldn't open my mouth...yeah, it was horrible.

The flight pick up on Saturday went well. Everything came back in as good a shape as when it left...except for my face...and I even finished Harry Potter 3. YAY! Now I'm just waiting for me mum's package to come so I can start the 4th and hopefully the 5th book. YES! I had no idea I would even be up at the 4th book by this summer. I'm really happy and amazed.

We saw HUGE bear tracks, but sadly no bears. I was really disappointed at that. Hopefully on the next float. :) What we did see was the wolverine like I said before, a porqupine (spelling?), lot's o' bald eagles, some owls, lot's o' fish, cranes, swans, beavers galore! Beaver lodges were about as popular as Starbucks in NYC. He he hee...OH! And we saw mosquitoes...but yeah, think I already mentioned that with a bit o' rage mixed with it. Grrr...

I have off until Wednesday, when we actually might go until Sunday to go and look at the next river we will be floating on July 10th. We'll be taking a jet boat this time, but still, for heaven's sake...WE JUST GOT BACK! I guess it's better than doing manual labor...but that means I can't make contact with Meliss for those couple o' days. Ok...stop making fun of me and saying that I'll be fine. I know I'll be fine...but it still sucks. I mean, it's bad enough that I'm how many miles away from her...and now I can't even talk or email her. Yeah...not my cup o' tea.

But don't worry...I've changed my plans and I'll be hopefully coming home now on July 21 instead of August 18. I realized that I need to spend some time with my family and friends before I go back up to school for I don't know how many months at a time. I barely got to spend ANY time with anyone when I got home at the beginning of the summer...so I want to make that up hopefully before I go back to school. AND...and this is the best part...Meliss and I will be going to NYC to spend a night and then it's OFF TO CANADA!!! WOO! It'll be so nice to just get away from it all...to just check out of life for a couple o' days and be together. Hmm...I can't wait!

Welp, that's it for now folks. Hope ya'll are enjoying your summer and I hope to see some of you when I get back. I miss ya'll!!!

Kess ;)

P.S. I've got a question for ya'll. What's worse than being a woman and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes every time you go to the bathroom? Yeah...all that PLUS your period. Oh yeah...try that on for size. Right now...if anyone can top that story, BRING IT ON!!! I feel like I should be put in one of those teen magazines about awkward and embarrassing period stories. HAHAHA! ;)

7:28 pm - Stolen from Meliss...
69 Questions to Start the Summer

Hmm...yeah...I love you sooooo much!

2. If no, would you like to be?
Didn't you read the first question...I LOVE HER!!

Since it's the only way for people to write to me and Meliss writes me about twice a day...ALOT! YAY!

4. What is your favorite candy bar?
Milky Way

5. What are your favorite shoes?
My black and pink etnies...Kristy totally would kill for them. HAHA!

6. Have you ever tripped going up steps?
Yep...gravity always surprises me!

7. Do you have a vacation planned for this summer yet?
Welp, I'm in Alaska all summer (which isn't really a vacation, but hard work). But...Meliss and I are planning to go to Niagra Falls before the fall semester in August. I CAN'T WAIT!

8. Would you bungee jump?
Oh man! That would be so exciting! OF COURSE!

4:30 pm - Workin' real hard...
June 15, 2006

Hey Everyone! So this week has been nothing special, but stuff has happened. Let's see...Monday (June 12) I got First Aid certified and got to take inventory on rafts that we had. That basically called for blowing all of the rafts up, rapping it up, and dragging it to a near-by shelf or across the way to a storage place. Those suckers were bloody heavy! I totally have some sweet looking pipes now. YEAH!

Tuesday (June 13) I had to wash a bunch of stuff for our trip coming up on Monday through Saturday. Then, I had to put together another Cadaraft (one of the rafts I did my first day here). You know, it wasn't that hard because I had already done it once. And I felt so accomplished because I taught Crystal (the girl from the SaRON site) how to use tools properly to build it with me. YAY! See...Kess can be handy once she gets the hand of it herself. ;) OOOOO!! I finally got my package from Meliss tonight! It was incredible!! I swear, I couldn't keep my eyes dry whenever I would look at it. It was so sweet of her to send me stuff...and what really got me (besides the letters and the perfect hallmark card that says exactly how I feel) is the way she knew what to send me without me really telling her. I mean, she even sent me Axe...that's amazing! I love her so much! I couldn't have asked for anything better in the world. :) Thank you very hun...you spoil me too much...he he hee!

Wednesday (June 14) I washed some camping supplies for the upcoming trip and then I had to take bear safety and fire arms safety. Well, we watched a video about how shooting can go wrong and then it was time to get to the range. I was the only other one with a valid license, so I drove also besides the instructor. Yeah...ummm...it was 8 natives, the instructor, and me (THE ONLY GIRL!!). So, needless to say, the boys had a good time watching me attempt to fire a rifle and shotgun for the first time...EVER! Hell...I did better than some of them...especially with the moving target. WOO! GIRL POWER!! Wow...can anyone say Spice Girls blast from the past? HAHAHA! When we got back around 3ish, I had to watch two bear safety videos because I missed those previously. It was actually kinda scary...the seriousness of if you see a bear and everything you SHOULDN'T do. *shiver* I know for a fact that we will see bears while going on the floats. Dan (my supervisor) even said so...but he's used to it...he said he's been run over a couple o' times by bears. HAHA! Definitely no Winny the Pooh Bear either ya'll!

Thursday (June 15...today!) I took the bear safety test and hopefully passed it. Twasn't that hard...simple common sense stuff, ya know? Then, Sam and I attempted to wash I don't know how many chests. He kept squirting me and pulling little jokes on me. Goodness! Why does everyone pick on Kessler?!?!?!?! After that, I started to roll up some tie straps and put them in little groups as to what raft needed what straps. I decided to not go on the plane flight out to see the river, so I got to go home before 12. HOT DOG!! I love being a volunteer. HAHA! Ooo...I was excited today because I finally met someone that said HI to me first in a friendly way. Her name is Sarah and she's from Australia. Dude! An Ausie! That's exciting! They're more crazy than us Americans...but I guess that's kinda good eh? Anyway...it was nice to see a more outgoing face around here than just me looking at myself in the mirror. HAHAHA!

Welp, I may update before I leave for the whole week next week, but we'll see. Alrighty peeps, until next time! CHEERS!

Kess ;)

P.S. Congrats to Katy and Claire for graduating on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from Daniel Boone High School. You guys rock my socks and I'm so sad I couldn't be there. I left ya'll messages and even talked to Katy, so it's all good. YAY!

P.P.S. I miss you terribly and love you so much!!

12:31 pm - The SaRON Site experience
June 11, 2006

Hey Everyone! How's life? Life's just been dandy here. So yes, the little river expedition. It went really well actually. We left Wednesday morning (June 7, 2006) around 8:30. The only bad thing about the day was that it was raining and was SUPER FREEZING the whole five hours to the SaRON site. AHH! So Kessler was wearing about 4 or 5 layers (thank you Syracuse for teaching me well!) and was getting wind burn in the face. HAHA! It was quite the experience though. I enjoyed it. At least I didn't get sick like Sam did. Poor guy!

Anyway, we reached the SaRON site around 2 pm. My eyes were nearly floating at that time because I had to pee SO bad. I mean, I don't mind doing the chicken squat to go take a piss, but I just didn't want to get a frozen WOOHOO from the cold. HAHAHA! So, yeah, back to the subject at hand...Dan, Sam, Olin, and I were greeted by Crystal (28 years old). She was very awesome...bascially did all of the cooking. We waited for Jake (30) and Adam (21) to get back from doing what they do (researching down river). We all ate together. You know, I really liked that because I thought we were all going to have to fend for ourselves, food wise. Everyone there was really nice, but a bit too shy and didn't really laugh alot at stupid things like I do. He he he...it was still cool though...I just went with it. After lunch we started to build a new wooden floor for the weather port we had to put up (IN THE RAIN!) and that pretty much took us to the end of the day.

The next morning (Thursday June 8, 2006), always starting out with coffee!, Dan, Sam, and I headed out to do some training for what we would really be doing this summer. This is the part I really liked. It was actually scienctific techniques. There was no manual labor involved...ALL SCIENCE AND NAUTRE BABY!! I fit right into the stereotypical woman and did better at the math and data collecting than Sam did. What can I say but I am woman, hear me roar!! We took velocity measurements. We got back around dinner...but before dinner, Sam, Crystal, and I went for a long hike up the back of the camp. We climbed a tundra covered hill that seemed to deceive us greatly. As soon as you thought you were getting closer to the top, it just kept going and going. What was cool about it was that you could see for miles and miles around. Amazing and glorious sites! See...that's one of the reason's WHY I love this type of work. Seeing nature and experiencing it is one of the best feelings in the world to me. I get such a thrill from it. We saw lots of wolf, bear, caraboo, and moose tracks while we were up there.

The next morning (June 9, 2006), Dan, Sam, Olin, Crystal, and I did some pebbly count techniques and determing the slope of the river. This was all for practice, but I got to teach some stuff to the others as well (which made me feel uber smart! YAY!). After that, we ate lunch and Dan, Sam, and I left to go back to Bethel. We saw four bald eagles just soaring right above us at one point. It was incredible! I got to drive the boat at one point and nearly spun us out during a blind turn. Hell, it wasn't my fault the turn just happened to be blind and didn't see us! HAHAHA! Sorry...bad joke. We made it back safe and sound and I've just been chilling with Uncle Doug ever since.

Sorry for such a LONG update, but there was a lot of stuff that went on. Thanks for reading and I hope everyone's summers are going great! Talk to ya'll soon! Ta ta!

Kess ;)

P.S. If ya'll have myspace, please message me because I can't access my email from this computer for some odd reason. Weird, I know! ;)

6:59 pm - AHH!!
June 6, 2006

So yeah, this internship is starting to piss me off a little. My first day was nice/I wanted to crawl into a hole and die. It was nice because Dan (my supervisor) is really nice and a funny guy. He showed me around to like EVERYONE at the Wildlife Refuge and was really friendly. But then the slave work started. I guess it wasn't really slave work, but it sure felt like it. I had to get the three tents that we would be using out and patch any spots that needed to be extra-water sealed...then stuff those back into their pouches. THEN, Sam (a local boy who is going to be working on my team) and I had to assemble a HUGE raft...including pipes, bolts, washers, straps, HUGE tubes, etc. Ok, Kessler is not used to assembling or building stuff with tools. Boy, was that ever fun (SARCASM!!!) It took us all freakin' day...well, until quitting time at 5 pm. Dan said the best way to learn something is to do it yourself. We had instructions, but they sucked eggs. HAHA!

Today (Tuesday 666) was more like slave work. Sam and I finished taking the raft apart and packed that up into the shelf. We then went shopping for food for the trip that was supposed to happen today. Not to offend any guys out there, but food shopping with men SUCKS! HAHA! Sorry, just needed to get that out there. Dan was working on the boat all day because we were going to go out to the one site where the research was going to be happening. We were going to help set up some things there...basically MORE manual labor odd jobs. Now, I know I sound like a lazy bum when I say that I complain about manual labor...but I came to this internship thinking I was going to be doing some science, not mechanics. AHH!! Kessler does not do anything with motors, mechanics, or electrical crap. EEE! So anyway, we stayed until around 6 pm (waiting around and doing little things) and then the gas didn't come out right of the pump. So Dan FINALLY said to go home and we'd leave bright and early in the morning. *sigh* What a day! I am so beat, I think I'll go to bed around 8. HAHA! Haven't done that since about...ohhh...3rd grade.

Welp, that's all for now peeps. I should be getting back either this Friday or Saturday, so I'll update after I get back. Thanks for reading and I hope ya'll are having great summers.

Kess ;)

P.S. I love you!!!

11:52 pm - ALASKA! HERE I AM!!
June 3, 2006

Hey Everyone! Let me start my summer tale off by telling you of my traveling experiences. Well, because of the thunderstorms the night before, my first flight was delayed...SO, in the one hour line my parents and I stood in for check-in, my dad had to re-arrange all my next flights. Too bad that my last flight was the last one for the day. But, that wasn't too bad because I got to stay in a nice Hampton Inn in a King size bed. I really wished Meliss was there to help me use that room properly. HAHAHA! Sorry...I couldn't help it! Anyway, my flight left at 6:05 in the bloody AM. So...Kessler had to get up at 4:00 in the bloody AM to get to the airport in time. AHHH!

I arrived at the tiny airport of Bethel (which is the name of one of my really good friends ironically) and was greeted warmingly by my aunt and uncle and their new puppy Black Jack. YAY! LOVE! It was nice to see them...I think the last time I saw them was New Years. EEEE! Anyway, totally stormed Trish and Carolin (my closest cousins who are also staying in Alaska ironically at the same time I am). It was a nice family reunion. At 5, some people came over from my aunt's church and we had a cook-out. Then I did something that I hadn't done in years. We all went back to the tundra (aka...their back yard) and flew kites. HAHAA! YEAH! We had like 6 of them going at once. It was great to feel like a kid again.

Then, I got invited by my uncle to go fly a fire. Yeah...that's right. We hit the tiny water plane and took off to see a moving fire. It was an incredible experience. We had head-sets to talk to each other, official safety vests, I had rubber boots on, etc. We must have flown 60 miles or so to get to the fire. Let me tell you, it was an incredible site. Smoke was coming for miles before we reached the fire site, but the site itself had been moving for about a week now...so lots of burnt brush and tundra. The main concern was that if the fire had continued on the path they assumed, it would run right into a near by village. So, they needed to check to see if that was the case...and thank goodness (I believe) that it is not as critical as they thought it was. YAY!

So yes, my first day in Bethel Alaska and I get to go off in a water plane and see fire spread naturally in the Delta. THAT...IS...INCREDIBLE!

Welp, that's all I have for now. I will be updating hopefully quite often. During those 10 day river floats though, I'll have to catch ya'll up on that when I get back. I think there's four of them now. WHOA! So yeah, if you've made it this far, keep up with my adventure. Comment, cause I would like to see how ya'll are doing this summer and what not. Thanks a bunch guys. YOU ROCK! BYEEE!

Kess ;)

P.S. I've only been here one day, and I really miss the sound of your voice. I've got lots of pictures of you, but they can only do so much. I need your touch, your feel, your eyes...you. I love you hun. Hope all is well.

12:31 pm - Well...Michigan wasn't terrible
Hey kids! Sorry for not updating in a while, but life's been taking me to many different places all at once. I got back home May 15, caught up with friends through out the week and then left for Long Island Friday morning, May 19 (my mommy's birthday!!). It's the greatest feeling to be reunited with someone you love (even if you've only been apart as little as a day). Just to see them and to hold them makes all the difference in the world...something technology can never duplicate...EVER! I don't care what they say, human emotions can't be duplicated...it wouldn't be the same. Pure.

So yeah, Michigan wasn't terrible...let's just put it that way. HAHA! Meliss's dad was everything she said he'd be...immature and quite the jokester. I put up with it, and by the end of the week he wasn't that bad. I'm still Meliss's "friend" but you know, at least he's finally hit denial. WOO! It was really nice to just get away with Melissa. We really needed that. I mean, school was wonderful with her...but we were always doing work and whenever one would have class, the other wouldn't and vice versa. So, even if family wasn't that great in Michigan, I got to spend the whole week (every minute...except for the bathroom trips) with the one I love. Amazing...simply amazing.

It was hard to say goodbye when I finally had to Sunday, May 28. We won't see each other until late August/early September. But you know something, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be because I'm not worried. This feeling goes deeper than either one of us and I'm not worried. I'm going to miss cuddling up next to her whenever I go to bed, whenever I hear a country song, or whenever I see a hedghog. Hell...I'm just going to really miss BEING with her...but I'm not worried.

Ok...ya'll have probably started sharpening your knives by now from all this soppiness...but she's someone that really matters to me and I like to write about her.

I'll be leaving for Alaska this Friday, June 2nd (STEPHY'S BIRTHDAY!). It's gonna be extreme dude! I'll try to update this as often as possible to just let ya'll know what I've been up to and to see if I'm still alive. HAHA! Seriously...there are bears up there...no joke...and I have to take a bear safety course...maybe even carry a gun. *Puts pinky up to cornor of mouth like Kessler usually does with suspicious things* Anywho, hope ya'll are having a great summer so far. Safe travels!!

Kess ;)

P.S. My cell will have no service in Alaska...so if ya try to call me, just leave a nice voice mail for me when I get back. I'll like that very much so. YAY!

11:38 pm - I'm home...and doing quizzes!!
I'M HOME!! FINALLY!! Anyway, here are some awesome quizzes that I stole from Meliss. I miss her more than words can express. I can't wait to see her on Friday!! EEE!!

What`s your main purpose in life!?

An Undecided Wanderer.

You're as yet not certain what your path in life is. You are still exploring the world and your options, looking for a goal or a purpose that motivates you, and gives your life more of a purpose. But do not worry, just because you haven't found what your looking for, doesn't mean it's not out there. Keep searching.

Are you and your partner made for each other?

A perfect match!

What needs be said!? You two are perfect for each other. If there was such a thing as a ‘soul mate’ you would be the meaning. There is little that you don’t have in common and even less that you can’t overcome. You love being around your partner as often as you can, even if it means sacrificing time with friends and family.

Ahhh...see? Quizzes don't lie! HaHaHa!! YAY Meliss!!

What`s your ideal DREAM house?

A Country Estate.

You aren't much of a people person, and for this reason a country estate is more than ideal for you. The further from the city the better as far as your concerned. You enjoy the beauties of nature and the quietness of the country side. You belong in a country estate.

Guess Cassie and I have the same taste in houses. Rock on...totally a Mr. Darcy house!! Yes!!

What animal would best suit your personality?

A DOG.

You are one of the best friends that someone could ever ask for. A very loyal, compassionate person who is always there for close friends and family members who are in a tough time. You are someone who can be counted on time and time again and never let small grudges get in the way of a good friendship. But unfortunately, you are very dependant, and every now and then someone will take advantage of your loyalty, and it is most often not until you end up hurt that you realised your foolishness.

12:01 am - Where I SHOULD live...supposedly
So...I saw this quiz from a friend that asked where I should live. It asked me a lot of questions about the army and the government. Well...me being the very passive person I am just answered truthfully and you wouldn't believe where I ended up...

Which country should you REALLY be living in?

Russia

A vast terrain filled with beautiful scenery and interesting characters. You don't trust the world. You feel they are always up to no good. Which is why you'd make a great Russian.
You want life to be simple and have no desire for riches, fame or wealth - and thats the only way your government would have it.

Yeah......go figure. Couldn't have been Ireland or Scotland or Israel. It had to be Mother Russia. Well, then again, communism could come back in style. HAHAHAHAHA!

7:08 pm - Fun before being a drone studying...
So yeah...just saw this on Meliss's livejournal and I just laughed. I had to do it. It was just staring me in the face!! So yeah...turns out I'm not a freak and just like to:

The PJ's You Are Most Like: Underwear

You enjoy the simple things in life and aren't hard to please
You have an understated, easy sexyness that men love
And you're confident enough to pull it off - without being overbearing

Yep...so to see Kess in her underwear everyone, you must see her when she's asleep...next to Meliss...cuddling and kissing...but that's too bad everyone because she's pretty much the only person who gets to see me in my underwear (among other things...HAHA!). Jealous much? I thought so. WHA HA HAA!!

4:58 pm - What more could I ask for...
Is there such thing as a soulmate? Do we find ourselves searching for that one person that could complete us in life? There's a story, and I have made references about this before, of when people used to have four legs and two heads. The gods got angry and threw down thunderbolts, splitting the people in two. Now, each person had two legs and one head...but the separation left each half feeling empty. That's why people search their whole lives for that other half to complete their soul.

Meliss is getting us Poesy Promise rings. I KNOW!!! I can't believe it either! It's written in hebrew and says, ani l'dodi vedodi li. It's beautiful.

You'll know the two of you are united when you wear this wonderful ring. From Solomon's Song of Songs, chapter 2, verse 16, surely one of the most romantic passages in the Bible. I am my Beloved's and my Beloved is mine is inscribed in 16th Century Italian Hebrew script around the outside of the contemporary band.

So yes, that is her promise to me and it is mine to her. These next two years are going to be tough, but if we can make it through them then there's nothing we can't do. It feels so right...I'm going to work and try really hard for this to work out because I care deeply for her. I could spend the rest of my life with Meliss and live every day happily. Wooooo...ok, need to take a breather. He he heee...I would just like to leave everyone with a song that symbolizes a lot to me:

"Now I've had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before
Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
and I owe it all to you

I've been waiting for so long
Now I've finally found someone
To stand by me
We saw the writing on the wall
As we felt this magical
Fantasy

Now with passion in our eyes
There's no way we could disguise it
Secretly
So we take each other's hand
'Cause we seem to understand
The urgency just remember

You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love because

I've had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you

With my body and soul
I want you more than you'll ever know
So we'll just let it go
Don't be afraid to lose control
Yes I know what's on your mind
When you say, "Stay with me tonight"
Just remember

You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love because

I've had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you"

Beautiful song and it means a lot to me. This is how I truly feel...and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Kess ;)
